We are a privately owned, three-doctor, small animal practice in beautiful South Snohomish, just minutes away from stretches of local farms, rivers, and trails. As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in providing top-notch care for our patients—from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. Our team members are cross-trained to enhance both the client experience and their own professional growth.
Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities
- Walk, clean, feed, and care for patients
- Assist with treatments and monitor ongoing care
- Provide restraint for exams and procedures
- Take accurate patient histories and exam notes
- Support reception by answering phones and helping with scheduling
- Assist with radiographs, dental x-rays, fluid administration, and minor procedures
- Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgeries
- Keep the hospital clean, stocked, and organized
- Help with patient discharge, including writing and explaining instructions
- Handle client communication with empathy, tact, and professionalism
- Attend team meetings and participate in continuing education
Compensation & Growth
- Pay range: $19.00 – $22.00/hour, depending on experience and certification

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of recent animal care and veterinary assistant experience
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. (or ask for help when needed)
- Veterinary Medication Clerk License (or willingness to obtain)
- Certification as a Veterinary Assistant is a plus and rewarded with higher starting pay
